Great Landscape Awards

The OEHD Landscape Contest will run through June the first week of June.

Nominate your favorite neighborhood landscapes. No need to be modest, if your yard is beautiful, nominate it. It deserves recognition!

Once the nominations are in, our panel of judges will review the properties and choose ten winners.

The smaller print:

Properties awarded may be installed by a professional landscaper, but must be well maintained by the owner.
Gardens should be able to be seen from the street or sidewalk; Front yards only will be judged.
Recipients may be a home, apartment building, church, or business, but not a commercial landscaper or florist.
Properties must be within the Old Escondido Historic District boundaries.
A panel of judges will review all nominations using criteria such as but not limited to sustainability, aesthetic appeal, the use of regionally appropriate plants, and water conserving irrigation.
The board reserves the right to disqualify any nominations that are obvious hoaxes.
Winners will receive a sign for their yard to recognize their accomplishment.
